The new baby is not my first kid. When you have kids in elementary and junior high, all kinds of bugs come home – bacterial and literal. A recent experience inspired this strip. I like to think that if Andrew had an issue like that, I could do what needs to be done.
After my frustration with the new development build of GIMP, I learned it was actually a problem with tablet support in GTK+ 2.2. Since both the next GIMP and the next MyPaint will require the new GTK+, I’m sort of alarmed. So just for grins, I created this week’s strip using an evaluation copy of ArtRage Studio Pro. I actually quite liked it. Inking was a bit different, but it was nice to be able to select and set blending modes in the same program where I was painting. It’s not open source, but it is very reasonable for the quality of the software. I may end up buying it.

@Parady – I think that has something to do with the ink pen settings in ArtRage. I’m trying to figure out if I can match them in MyPaint.
